Mystic Tibet
Mystic Tibet
MYSTIC TIBET An Outer, Inner and Secret Pilgrimage Follow fifty pilgrims as they travel to the high Tibetan plateau for the spiritual adventure of a lifetime. In 2002, ordinary people from around the globe and all walks of life were drawn to this mystical land of enlightenment. Guided by the renowned Tibetan Buddhist master Lama Zopa Rinpoche, this was no common tourist trek, but a rare and powerful experience in which the invisible world of great yogis and saints was magically revealed. This intense journey uncovers the long suffering of the Tibetan people and explores the deep inner meaning of pilgrimage, which purifies the mind and creates the good heart. These pilgrims discovered more than temples and holy mountains; they touched the extraordinary potential of their minds, their own enlightened nature. For more information please see www.fpmt.org

Watch in 1080p! This is a video journal from our family (EBC) Everest Base Camp trip in Tibet, April 2011. I've used the remaining footage I collected to put this together and try to show the sights and memories of this little adventure. The footage begins from the moment we left Lhasa, Tibet to the moment we departed from Everest Base Camp. Please note that most of the video is shot "handheld" with basic Image stabilization. In one scene I was able to use the Hague MMC stabilizer, but it proved difficult due to altitude and poor timing. Elections Held for Tibetan Government-in-exile
Elections Held for Tibetan Government-in-exile
Elections are being held for the Tibetan government-in-exile. Tibetans around the world are voting for the Tibetan prime minister-in-exile, as well as for the Assembly of Tibetan People's Deputies. Tibetans across the globe are voting for the 15th election of the Tibetan parliament-in-exile, and also for the prime minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile. Tibetans living-in-exile in Shimla, and north India, cast their votes on Sunday. [Tenzin Kunsang, Tibetan Welfare Officer, Shimla]: "We have made 900 plus voters registered here. We are expecting quite a number of people here because right now you can see people are very enthusiastic and they are waiting in lines." Tibetan Buddhist monks in particular seem to be very enthusiastic about the democratic process. [Nawang, Tibetan Buddhist Monk]: "Wherever this voting is taking place, all voters are voting on their own, nobody is forcing us to do anything nor is the government putting any pressure on us." An estimated 80000 Tibetans along with their spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, arrived in India in 1959 after an unsuccessful uprising against Chinese rule. In recent years, the Dalai Lama has advocated limited autonomy of Tibet, whereas some Tibetans have been demanding complete independence from China.
